one is the incumbent party for the President, the other is for the Legislature. Either way, and pardon my French, we're fucked

I'm more "opposing Obama" than "supporting McCain".

Frankly, I wish McCain were the Democrat running against somebody like Romney. Heck, back in the primaries one of those "which candidate reflects your views most?" quizzes had McCain distantly trailing Hillary as far as a match for my views!

However, Obama is so damn objectionable in so many ways that I would have voted for fundie Mike Huckabee against him.

I'm guessing that I'm not going to end up voting for McCain anyway, given that Illinois is Obama's home state (and that the Black vote in Chicago will no doubt produce a miraculous 150% voter turn-out for him), so it's almost a given that he'll win here, allowing me to vote for Bob Barr Wayne Allyn Root (with whom I agree nearly 100%).

Although, I must admit ... Sarah Palin reminds me so much of Ronald Reagan (and, yes, that's a good thing) that I'm almost tempted to vote the actuarial tables!

Palin reminds ME of George W Bush. No knowledge, no desire for any, rampant cronyism, "going with the gut" politics (yay, see where that got us), "folksy" charm that falls apart when a second question is asked...
