I'm not going back to doing movie reviews here, but wanted to note a few impressions from Captain America 2 ...
First: early-ish in the movie there was somebody rattling off potential targets of the attack system, among this was Steven Strange, aka Doctor Strange ... definitely a subtle plug for that project.
Second: a less subtle plug for the TV project featuring Peggy Carter ... with Cap still carrying her picture and visiting the 80-something Peggy in her sickbed. Cap and Black Widow also end up in an underground bunker which was the first home of S.H.I.E.L.D., which I'm guessing is going to be the setting for a lot of the new "Agent Carter" show.
Third: they tried to "tidy up" some of the timeline issues vs. the comic book continuity ... at the risk of alienating some older readers. I used to read "Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos" back when I was a kid - it was one of my favorites. In the first movie, the Howling Commandos were sort of introduced (you can't miss Dum Dum Dugan in his bowler hat and red handlebar mustache), with Cap rescuing them from a prison camp. Now they're in a display in the Smithsonian as Captain American and the Howling Commandos, sort of writing Fury out of that timeline, and making his current age in the films plausible. Since at least Dugan follows Fury into S.H.I.E.L.D. in the comics, it's plausible that he and the other Howling Commandos may end up in the new "Agent Carter" show as well.
Fourth: had some heavy cognitive dissonance on the tech for the climactic scenes ... seems to be a mighty small change for those helicarriers! (being vague to not do spoilers)
