Well ... that's not much of a surprise.

Finally got in the Ancestry.com results (click on the image for full size) and they're pretty much what one might expect for somebody with multiple Mayflower ancestors and predecessors who fought on both sides of the Revolutionary War.



The Wife brought up the low-level of Welsh as odd (as I had a set of great-grandparents on my Mom's side who were from Wales), but 13% would be right about what one would get if just one of them was from Wales genetically. Similarly with my off-the-boat German great-grandmother on my Dad's side for the majority of the "Europe West" percentage.

My brother took one of these tests and it came up with some Italian for him ... which could be that "Europe South" factor here ... although I had an old girlfriend who accused me of carrying on Imperial Rome in my head, so that stuff might go back to the days of Britain being a Roman colony!
