OK ... so it took a bit longer than that ...

Apologies to anyone who dashed off to to immerse themselves in the new crop of poems (yeah, right) after I posted my previous entry ... I just NOW got them uploaded. Sorry about that! One of these days I need to get a better solution for my varioius dial-ups. As I mentioned in this space previouisly, I used to have a nice reliable local ISP, which unfortunately got bought up by the pig fuckers at Winstar who then prompty decided that they wanted to get out of the dial-up and e-mail biz, leaving me in a scramble to change five or six years' worth of on-line contact info! After a search turned up just no good independent options, I fell back on my AOL account for my main dial-up (pitiful, I know), and picked up the AT&T "7/7" deal as a backup, which gives me dial-up and a big chunk of storage for $7/month (and lowered my per minute LD charges to 7¢) ... the problem being with that is that it's just an unlimited time version of their "ad supported" service, so you have thid looming info bar on screen all the time dropping ads, AND you can't FTP into your web space unless you're logged on via THEIR system. Since my poetry site is parked over there at the moment, it means that I have to log off AOL and log on with them to update the files ... which I know sounds like nothing, but in my universe it is sufficiently much of a pain in the ass that it prevents my updating files over there until I'm good and ready to deal with all that AT&T crap (all the ads and slowwwww connections). Anyway ... that's the main thing that held up the updates. Not that anybody was taking a look anyway.
