Oh boy ... lucky you ... three poems!

Yep ... got some "daily writing" done while up in Minneapolis. All sorts of stuff to report from that trip, but I've been too backed up (and/or too tired) to get to that yet. Anyhoo ... here's the first poem ...

                    IN BEING WHERE TO BE

                    in broken day
                    we fracture line
                    shatter intent
                    into failure's darkness
                    almost off-handed
                    one more demand
                    not finding attainment
                    but creating conflict

                    other flaws
                    align as set
                    we achieve flight
                    midway into journeys
                    and claim sleep
                    when shifted down
                    through these hours
                    and their exertions

                    faulty data
                    enters here
                    requires extension
                    through alien frames
                    insists on forms
                    foreign to us
                    and yet historic
                    in these ways

                    within inertial states
                    we touch again
                    words which grasp
                    and orient the mind
                    every time
                    we have ventured into this
                    inspiration gels
                    demanding fresh intents

                    how can we take
                    all these disparate parts
and form of them a whole
                    which achieves the dream
                    and follows these designs?
                    how can we rein
                    the deepest of desires
                    to fully change the day?

Here's another ...

I really wish I had the strength to do some good old propogandizing here ... after all, the trip was all about the Unicity Network and all. But I'm tired, and barely able to transcribe these poems (let alone the 15 pages of notes I need to get typed up and mailed out to my downline!). Anyway ... #2 from the trip:

                    IN KNOWING NOTHING KNOWN

                    only substance
                    unexpected
                    from a matrix
                    of simple knowns
                    comes new life
                    in old frames
                    new hope
                    in fresh context

                    uneasy days
                    held bound
                    in focus on mundane
                    then released
                    into other lands
                    stranger zones
                    bizarre places
                    heard not seen

                    other cycles
                    from the past
                    echo here
                    other options
                    never made
                    swim to mind
                    as possibilities
                    still undone

                    too many times
                    brought to this abyss
                    to stare away
                    into its depths
                    too many times
                    brought to believing
                    without reality
                    completing this

                    no way to judge
                    no way to measure
                    what has become
                    over these days
                    we track the time
                    and freeze the language
                    hoping that their forms
                    generate new acts

And yet another ...

Yessiree ... poetry ... does a body good ... makes the mind insane ... yadda yadd yadda. Gee, I wish we had the NASA channel here ... they had it in the hotel ... it was sort of like "webcams in space" ... hours of nothing happening, illustrated with graphs, and explained with narration ... oooh, big fun. Anyway ... here's #3 from the trip:

                    IN FINDING WHAT CAN HAVE

                    wrapped in early
                    and grey and dawn
                    in process
                    in transit
                    in midst of plan
                    seeking a synching
                    with preferred things
                    amid our descent

                    too many acts
                    demanded of self
                    we fill calendars
                    with too many marks
                    we leave nothing human
                    no room to be weak
                    driving on forward
                    with minimal sleep

                    if we attain
                    what would we be?
                    if we achieve
                    what would we have?
                    dreams run in cycles
                    with nightmarish times
                    seeking and fleeing
                    in equal amounts

                    walking the knife edge
                    dividing the depths
                    we ache to find home
                    like Oz in the mists
                    we seek to steer life
                    without rudder or wheel
                    fighting the current
                    of destruction and pain

                    how can we find
                    72 hours in day?
                    10 days to the week,
                    300 years in a life?
                    how can we do
                    all what must be done
                    to reach all these goals
                    and escape our sure doom?

useful stuff done too ...

On top of the not-so-useful-in the-context-of-dollars getting the poetry transcribed, I also got some domain stuff done! I registered a new one 2unicity.com (pretty snappy, considering how many "unicity" things had already been registered even before the merger creating the Unicity Network) and then moved my vitality-vigor.com (which had fallen between the cracks over at HalfPriceHosting) over to Host&Save. Weeee!

All that AND did the "Tooth Fairy" thing for Daughter #1 who lost her second tooth tonight (both lower front incisors gone).
