Poetry ... more than you even wanted ...

I got yet another month up in the poetry archive ... this time it's July 1997 ... the direct link is
http://home.att.net/~BTPS/1997/BTPS-97-07.html ... of course, the "front door" for the Big Poem Site is at http://i.am/btripp ... come on, go read 'em ... anything that umpleasant HAS to be good for you, right?

I also got some new stuff done for the Poem Site ... I added a "what's new" section linked off the main page which lists updates and changes (most of which you'll already know about if you read this) ... plus, I got the basic formatting knocked out for the "text lists" of the poems. I started with 1997's poem list (which is still getting done as I edit the raw text files into HTML), but I should be able to take that and pretty quickly whip together 1998, 1999, 2000, and so far into 2001 (especially since those have been "low volume" years). I eventually will be cutting-and-pasting from the year lists into a big alphabetical list, that I'll add to as I edit farther back, and write new stuff. Once I get the basic files up on those I'm also going to be adding a search function, so if you're real bored, you can find out how many times "death" shows up in my poems! Ah, you gotta love obsessive-compulsive disorder!

Deism ...

In preparing a comment on another L.J. post I ran into a REALLY EXCELLENT SITE ... it's http://www.deism.com which is by the "World Union of Deists". Deism is the "root belief" of the U.S.A. ... Washington, Jefferson, Paine, and others of the Founding Fathers were Deists ... a fact much glossed-over by the rabid dogs of the Religious Reich these days.

Of course, Deism fits hand-in-glove with Libertarianism, not surprising, since the Libertarian movement would have us return to Constitutional govenment, and the Deist "Founding Fathers" are the ones who wrote the Constitution!

The main page is sort of hokey ... but the articles posted there are top-notch ... a very good read!
