Maybe after we get done with Iraq we can kick the shit out of the French???

A choice bit from "Meet The Press" ...

VICE PRES. CHENEY: We’ve run out this string for 12 years and 17 resolutions in the U.N. Security Council. Now, with all due respect to the French, if you look back at their track record, they have consistently opposed efforts to hold Saddam Hussein accountable for his actions.
MR. RUSSERT: Is it because of their financial dealings?
VICE PRES. CHENEY: I can’t say that. I don’t know. Excuse me. I know, for example, in ’95, when there was an effort to pass a resolution, the Security Council finding him in material breach, France opposed it. In ’96, when there was an effort to pass a resolution condemning Saddam Hussein for his slaughter of the Kurds, France opposed it. In ’97, when there was an effort to block travel by his intelligence and military officials, France opposed it. In ’98, France announced he was free of all weapons of mass destruction—something nobody believed. And in ’99, of course, they opposed the creation UNMOVIC, the existing inspection regime, that they now want to place their total faith in with respect to trying to disarm Saddam Hussein. Given that pattern of behavior, it’s difficult for us to believe that 30 days or 60 more days are going to change anything.

Great Quote ...

Hey, it was in a "locked" entry, so folks who don't hang with that crowd might have missed it ...

This was posted by ikilled007 over in the libertarianism community:

"Note to Libertarians
You should know you're on the wrong side of an issue when the people who agree with you are Ted Rall, Noam Chomsky, Charlie Reese, Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, and the governments of Russia, China, and France."

Heh! That pretty much sums up why I'm only feeling marginally Libertarian these days.

Woot! Private enterprise to re-build in Iraq!

Can we say a big "FUCK YOU" to the U.N. and all those mealy-mouth NGO's? I think so!

According to this article the Bush administration is preparing to cut out all "the usual suspects" from rebuilding post-war Iraq!

Sort of like the Little Red Hen ...

"Who will speak against Saddam?"
"Not ME" said the French ...
"Not ME" said the Krauts ...
      "Not us" said the U.N.

"Then I must," said the U.S.A.!

So America presented the case against Saddam, and it was clear he had to go.

"Saddam must be removed," said the U.S.A. "Who will stand beside us?"
"Not ME" said the French ...
"Not ME" said the Krauts ...
      "Not us" said the U.N.

"Then we will work with just the willing," said the U.S.A.!

So America took her sons and daughters and billions of dollars of its own wealth
and placed them in harms way.

When the time came to act, the U.S.A. asked "Who will strike down the Iraqui dictator?"
"Not ME" said the French ...
"Not ME" said the Krauts ...
      "Not us" said the U.N.

"Then I and my allies shall," said the U.S.A.!

So America and her allies stepped forward into the line of fire to free Iraq from Saddam.

After the war was over, the U.S.A. said, "Now we shall see who will help rebuild."
"We will!" said the French, Krauts, and sleazy U.N.

"I am quite sure you would," said America,
"but you have excluded yourself at every step before, and you shall be excluded NOW."

Then America gathered her allies and they reaped the benefits of a free Iraq.

There was none left at all for the French, the Krauts, or the scum-sucking worms of the U.N.!

Gee ... I just love a happy ending!
