I just don't get it ...

OK ... today all my "missing" images are no longer missing ... both the pics hosted on AOL and the pics hosted on ATT ... what the fuck? I wish there were at least consistency in this, as it's a pain in the ass to be gearing up to MOVE all the damn images and then find that (today at least) I don't have to. Still ... it will be nice when LJ cracks open that image hosting deal, so I can just dump the pics that are going to pretty much just on LJ onto their servers!

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth ...

OK, so I don't know why things are back to normal as far as image availability goes, but I'm not going to fight it ... in fact, I'm going to take advantage of the (possibly temporary) return to sanity by the various servers involved and post a pic!

This is the "Team Rocket" pinata that I put together for Daughter #1's birthday (the party is two weeks from tomorrow, but I hate having things hanging till the last moment that can get done ahead of time!). In the first picture you can just make out the Team Rocket "R" on the side, this is covering up the American flag sticker that the pinata came with (what's the message there? bash the gringo's space program???) and of course in both there is the "portrait" shot of the Jesse and James (with their "evil" Pokemon critters). My daughter is in full agreement that she and her friends would rather beat the shit out of these guys than "cute little Pikachu" (who was a pinata option!).

Lego

Wow ...

Gee ... I guess even in my typically crappy, soul-crushing, days little glimmers of light must fall (mind you, I wish they'd fall in the form of winning Lotto tickets, but hey, I take what I can get). Today we got a set of Pokemon cards that I'd bid on over on eBay ... the set was detailed very specifically, and did not include any of the Sandstrorm "ex" cards, but I got it because it was going to fill in most of the non-holographic gaps in Daughter #1's collection. Well, the seller must have been in a generous mood, as there were several more cards than what they'd listed, plus two of the much more valuable "ex" cards ... how much more valuable? Well, I'm still having a hard time dealing with the economies of the card business (these things retail for $3.50 for a package of nine pieces of cardboard!), but click on the pic of the card and get ready for a shock! YEE-HAW! If I was into selling these things, I'd be able to turn around and get five times what I paid for the set this came in, for just this one card (and I could do it too, since amazingly, this is the second "Typhlosion ex" card that we've gotten in the past couple of months)! It's a very strange world out there ... but it's nice when a shiny thing like this drops into one's lap.
