oh, joy ... yet another poem

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't be so blah about this ... after all, I would ideally like to get back to writing 21 poems a month. However, given the extreme paucity of commentary from the posting of poems here, I'm thinking that if my output goes up, my (already sparse) friends-list readership will go down. Hmmm ... what to do, what to do? Anyway, here's another ...

                   SET AT EDGES

                   shimmering vision
                   shadowy veil
                   hung between
                   this and that
                   here and there
                   how few perceive it
                   fewer still
                   pierce to that world

                   in broken days
                   froze apart
fallen in the loss of wings
                   we are cast down
                   to mundane states
                   yet can see
                   where once we were
                   and ache to be returned

                   locked by hours
                   chained by days
                   no cycle breaks
                   to let us fly
                   we reach the border
                   touch the place
                   but can not reach
                   across that line

                   where is the zone
                   the true between
                   which takes the shadow
                   into the light?
                   are there ways
                   to straddle doors
                   and stand as strongly
                   on either side?

                   we yearn to weave
                   within this world
                   the fibers of that other
                   and take the power
                   of that realm
                   unfiltered into this
                   to build a newness
                   a perfect grace
