Back in the "way back when", I used to get all sorts of cool electronic/stereo stuff from a funky catalog called DAK ... their initial business was inexpensive blank tapes, and you used to get stuff as a "bonus" when you bought a box of tapes ... but as time went on the "stuff" kept getting cooler, and the tapes sort of faded away, to the point where the DAK catalog was a bunch of cool new electronics.
Well, I don't know what made me think of DAK this evening, but I plugged in "Drew Alan Kaplan" (the D.A.K. in DAK) into Google, and what did I find? A brand-new DAK! It turns out that DAK had gone out of business (bad bank deals) in the 90's but after a while Drew was able to buy back the name from the bank and start over. I haven't spent much time on the site yet, so can't tell you any specifics, but I thought I'd pass along the link (click on the logo) to anybody out there who was also a "DAKonian" back in the day!
