Diet Update (like you really wanted to know)

(sigh) ... Yeah, I didn't report on the diet last week since I was sort of bummed to have not lost any more weight then ... while this diet is remarkably easy to stay ON, it's also not a "miracle cure", since if I "pig out" (either with a hefty dinner at home or a big restaurant meal), it certainly shows up on the scale ... if I eat "normally", the weight drops off, but throw in a big steak dinner and I'm dieting in reverse! That's the story of week #2, two days up, two days down, one up, two down, for a net loss of 0 lbs.

Week 3 was similar (I guess having The Wife cooking over the weekend is NOT a good thing for the diet ... as Sunday/Monday numbers are tending upwards!), with getting back to a zero point by Wednesday ... this time, however, there was a big fancy dinner (some friends of ours' 20th anniversary party) thrown into the mix, so I'm pleased that I got into a loss by the end of the week!

Week 4 is starting out good ... instead of cooking at home, The Wife suggested we pick up stuff up at Five Faces on Division and head over to the beach for dinner ... even though I had a big Itallian Beef sandwich and fries, I was down a pound today! I suspect that this is becoming TMI for everybody, but here's the data:

W2 Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Day 7
Daily + 1.0 + 1.0 - 1.0 - 1.0 + 1.5 - 2.5 + 1.0
Total + 1.0 + 2.0 + 1.0 - 0.0 + 1.5 - 1.0 - 0.0

W3 Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Day 7
Daily + 1.0 + 0.5 - 1.0 - 0.5 + 4.5 - 5.0 + 0.5
Total + 1.0 + 1.5 + 0.5 - 0.0 + 4.5 - 0.5 - 1.0

Month 1 Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4
Week Total - 5.0 - 0.0 - 1.0
Total Total - 5.0 - 5.0 - 6.0

Anyway, that's the scoop ... I guess if I were exercising more instead eating out more, this would be working faster! Still, six pounds over three weeks is not bad, and closer to what the docs "recommend" for weight loss.
