I hates meeses to pieces!
Man ... whodathunk that a little malfunctioning mouse could screw up a computer system so massively? I guess I fell asleep at the desk with my hand on the mouse one too many times (yanking it off the desk as my arm relaxes and falls off the mousepad), as it was only sorta communicating with the system.
If I jiggled around the cord going into the mouse, the Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock lights would flash on the keyboard, which I figured meant that there was probably some sort of frayed/broken wire in the mouse. So, once I dropped Daughter #1 at school, I headed off to Walgreens and picked up a new scroll mouse. I had to once again dig under my desk to get to the cable jungle, but within a few minutes I was good to go and was able to use the computer again (for some reason with the mouse MIA, the keyboard was not 'waking up" the monitor from either screen saver or sleep mode).
Not that anybody else cares ... but I was going through web junkie withdrawel big time!
