What a treat for an old Punk ...

Well, we took The Girls to see Shrek2 this afternoon, and there, in the middle of the movie, I suddenly find myself singing along ...

Ever fallen in love with someone
Ever fallen in love
In love with someone
Ever fallen in love
In love with someone ...

And suddenly it's 1979 again in my head and I'm thinking "Oh, my GAWD! That's the Buzzcocks!", except, of course, it's not the Buzzcocks, but some new act covering "Ever Fallen In Love?" ... but, STILL ... what a heart-warming treat for the old Punks in the audience (OK, so I might have been the only one singing along).

By the way ... Shrek2 is a very good movie, with fun new voice talent added to the core of Myers/Murphy/Diaz ... the sight gags are so plentiful (such as the store names in Far Away) that you'd probably have to see the film a half a dozen times to pick them all out. I think they could have played a couple of new characters more "over-the-top" (it was only on reflection that I really "got" the "Godfather" aspect of the Fairy Godmother ... throwing in a "Capiche?" with a cheek pinch would have done wonders to nail that ... and they could have done more to "telegraph" the King's secret instead of just leaving it for the end), but I guess they didn't want folks to get all the jokes on the first viewing!
