I got my GMail account!

Thanks to gigglecam for the invite! I was relieved to get "btripp" there, as I really hate it when somebody else snags that address (and there are a LOT of idiots out there who think that their e-mail is "btripp@" when it's actually btripp followed by additional numbers or such!).

However, that's not what this post is about ... no, this post is about the freaky way that the "The Gmail Team" signs off on its e-mails ... "Speedy Delivery".

Now, as anybody who grew up near a TV over the past thirty or forty years knows, "Speedy Delivery!" is the official slogan of the Speedy Delivery Messenger Service which operates in Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. This has me wondering if Mr. McFeely is somehow behind Google Mail ... after all, Gmail did not appear until well after Fred Rogers' death, and maybe McFeely felt a need to branch out from running industrial videos around the neighborhood!

But wait! There's MORE! There has been a LOT of flak over the "store and search" aspects of Gmail ... could some shadowy forces within Homeland Security have offered Mr. McFeely and Google "an offer you cannot refuse" to have the Google information-gathering tech hiding behind the "Speedy Delivery" smiling face? It sure smells like a conspiracy ... why hasn't Art Bell looked into this?!

heh ...
