ouch ...

I have been in another bit of a funk of late and have not been getting much of anything of use done. Part of this was the "summer schedule", of course, where I had a very truncated day between bringing Daughter #1 in to Camp in the morning and then picking her up in the early afternoon (and her sister some time after that). Since Friday was #1's last day of camp, we're back to the other summer schedule (where I have her around all day) and I've decided that since I have "an assistant" I might as well make another effort on getting my Mom's place ready to sell.

Yesterday we went over there in the morning and got some stuff organized and then dragged a cartload of things the 7-8 blocks over to the storage unit. She had a playdate in the afternoon with a number of kids from her class (they all were meeting up at a playground) so our "useful time" was limited then. This morning we got up and went over to my Mom's and I got some of the boxes that I had been randomly filling up before into a more organized state. We made two trips over to the storage locker, each with two boxes of books and two boxes of table linens, and at the end of the second trip we spent about an hour tearing apart an old shipping palette that I had in there to use the boards to relieve the "crushing" of putting box-on-box as we got stuff organized.

It's been in the upper 80's and humid, and there's not much air circulation in the storage place, so I came out of there looking like I'd been in a sauna. We dragged back home and I had to lay down for about an hour! I figure that over the next 4 weeks or so, if we can make two runs each morning to storage, we should have pretty much everything that we need to get out of there (minus the furniture, of course) done for Fall realestate showings.

I am tired and sore, and find this whole process (well, except for having Daughter #1 assist me ... she was insisting on helping get the nails out of the boards from the palette) quite depressing.
