Help?

I have a computer issue that has me stumped.

When we were putting in the wireless DSL here, I had to upgrade the OS on two of our computers from W98 to XP ... I bought one upgrade package and put it both on The Wife's computer and Daughter #1's computer, having read something somewhere that one could put XP on "up to two" CPUs. Unfortunately, that does NOT appear to be the case with the upgrade, and the second install wouldn't take the key code and kept warning us that in 30 days it would de-activate.

Well, since this was on Daughter #1's computer, it did not get the attention it apparently needed (I did buy another upgrade, but did not get it set up in time), and her computer is currently locked up, the ONLY thing it will let us do is register the upgrade that's on it ... not install a new one, not run the system restore disk, nothing.

Does anybody know of some trick to make the damn thing let us install the NEW upgrade (for which we have a valid key code)? This is a HUGE pain in the ass, and I'd hate to have to re-format her HD just to get rid of the lock-up on this!

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
