I suppose this would be more interesting if I chose one of the NYC addresses for "childhood home", but I lived in New York from age 3 through age 9 or so, and, while Manhattan certainly did "set my wiring", it's sort of vague as "home" these days.
Anyway, to get from here to where I lived from ages 9 to about 13 ... from Chicago 60610 to Chicago 60614:
Total Est. Time: 5 minutes Total Est. Distance: 2.52 miles
And, to get from here to where I lived from about 14 till I was in college ... from Chicago 60610 to Chicago 60614:
Total Est. Time: 7 minutes Total Est. Distance: 2.46 miles
OK ... so here's the info for the NYC place I remember best ... from Chicago 60610 to NYC 10021:
Total Est. Time: 12 hours, 15 minutes Total Est. Distance: 798.31 miles
And, I guess to be comprehensive (or obsessive, take your pick), here's the figures for the first place we lived in New York ... from Chicago 60610 to NYC 10021:
Total Est. Time: 12 hours, 14 minutes Total Est. Distance: 797.81 miles
Interesting how simple the directions are for most of that Chicago to New York stuff ... as 98% of it is 90 into 80 onto 280 ... I drove that many times in college when I was hanging out with The Foundation (I'd volunteer to drive cars back to the NY HQ after folks were transferred to the Chicago Chapter) ... I used to time it so that most of the trip would be dark, and sunrise coming up just as it got interesting as you got into New Jersey, which also put me in Manhattan after the morning rush hour.
I guess if I really wanted to get comprehensive here, I'd add my "birth address" ... although it's only two blocks from the first one up there and just over a block to the second ... from Chicago 60610 to Chicago 60614:
Total Est. Time: 5 minutes Total Est. Distance: 2.08 miles
