Wow ...

Found this link from a post by beatnikside ... he was "wishlisting" an old Disney Skyway cable-car for his birthday ... but it seems that the folks at Disney have decided that eBay is a swell method for getting rid of old "stuff" (as well as grossly over-priced "limited edition" figurines) and have opened up the Disney Auctions Direct eBay store!

I've been a big fan of the Disney parks for most of my adult life, and it's sooooo tempting (or, would be if I had the cash) looking at stuff like cars and statues from the now-defunct Mr. Toad's Wild Ride or huge illuminated letters (sold individually) that used to spell out "Disneyland"! I guess when they changed stuff there all the old equipment went into storage, and now they're selling it off. Unfortunately, none of it is cheap ... I don't think I've seen anything there for less than a hundred bucks (and several things going for many thousands!) ... so I don't think I'll be bidding on anything, but it is fun to look!
