WebLogImages vs. PhotoBucket?

I have been using WebLogImages ever since AOL decided to dick around with remote-linking to files in one's "FTP-space" there (which I have ranted on extensively in the past ... after all, it's not like we're not paying for that storage on AOL, so where the f'n hell do they get off limiting our ability to link to our files???), and have been OK with their service.

One thing that I've noticed with other people's posts, however, is that there seems to be a problem with PhotoBucket actually loading in images ... it seems that, as often as not (and mind you, I'm on a dial-up connection), the pics will start loading, get about halfway displayed, and the "collapse" down to just a text line "Image hosted by Photobucket.com"! Needless to say, this is VERY irritating to have happen when I'm trying to see somebody's post, and I was wondering if some similar thing ever happens with WebLogImages ... I know that sometimes my pics load slowly, but I don't recall a case (aside from in a system-wide LJ glitch) where they didn't load at all.

So, my question is ... why do folks use PhotoBucket? It seems pretty pointless to use them if half the time they don't load ... why, if you use PhotoBucket, did you pick it over WebLogImages? I'm in a "curiosity loop" on this one right now, and it's really bugging me.

Of course, having a Permanent L.J. Account, I should be thinking of porting over to the new LJ picture hosting thing, but I'm an Old Dog, and that's a New Trick, and you know how that stuff goes!
