Well ...

That was quite the satisfyng evening's worth of TV watching ... my Bears win the NFL's Hall of Fame preseason game (keeping it interesting all the way, and clinching it with an interception in the endzone with less than a minute left to preserve a 27-24 victory), and ABC promo'd a new version of the classic Kochack: The Night Stalker that will be coming this Fall.

I'd been a fan of the original even before the SciFi Channel picked it up for re-runs (it was set in Chicago in the early 70's), and it was reported to be one of the main influences on the creators of The X-Files. I suspect it's not a coincidence that the new version (just called "Night Stalker") is being produced by two X-Files alums. It's disappointing that the series is being re-set in L.A. but it will hopefully be to the 70's version what the new Battlestar Galactica is to its source material!
