And away we go ...

Well, in an hour or so The Girls and I are heading off to "Crawdaddy Cove" ... a small indoor waterpark up in Madison, WI. The Wife (as noted previously) was looking for ways of making things quiet around here, and figured the only way she was likely to be getting much of any work done this week was to send the rest of us off into exile.

I'm bummed that I wasn't able to get a hold of my old college buddy Bob (who'd come down to help me with my Mom's place several times this summer), who lives up in Madison ... but when I tried his number, it was disconnected. He probably wasn't going to be there anyway (he had been talking about going out to visit with one of his brothers' family for the holidays), but that was my only route to getting in touch with him (he being one of those strange people who does not really "do the internet", even to the extent of having functional e-mail). I guess I'll either have to wait for him to call, or try to track him down via his brothers.

This hotel/waterpark deal is pretty sweet ... the waterpark is just for folks staying at the hotel, so it's not likely to be insanely crowded, and the hotel has a deal where "kids eat free" ... always a plus! This is similar to when The Wife sent us away a year back and we ended up in a Holidome up in Skokie. I hope the TV in the room has the RCA jack connectors so that we can run the little portable DVD player on it.

One of these days I need to get my laptop set up so it can talk to the world (it's still locked in to being set for Chubb's internal system, and I was never able to get it to recognize the wireless USB modem thing I got for it to talk to our system), which would allow me to check in on L.J. while I'm gone. So, don't go crazy with posting over the next few days, OK?

I'll be back on Thursday evening ...
