How come Illinois, the 8th most LJ-user infested state, has ZERO Voice Post access numbers? Heck, of the top 15 states for L.J. users, only 9 have access numbers (and two of the most populous, Texas and California, have just 1 and 3 respectively) ... what's up with that? Why do dinky little states like Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, and New Hampshire get dozens of local access numbers, while states like Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Washington, and Arizona get squat? You would think that if they were going to implement something like the Voice Post feature they'd do it so everybody (in the U.S., at least) could use it without racking up long distance charges! Hell, SixApart is flush enough they should be able to pop for an incoming 800# for the Voice Posts.
If there were local Chicago access numbers I'd likely be adding POETRY READINGS to my poem posts! Now, wouldn't that be special?
