It was a slightly better day today (so far), highlighted by Daughter #1 getting promoted to her second degree Brown Belt! This means that, if we're able to keep making enough classes and she keeps progressing, by this time next year she'll be ready to test for her Black Belt! I've been hoping that she'd be able to get the Black Belt while still in the Kid's class (before she turns 13), as that speaks a lot for "focus and dedication" and achievement, all things that she'll be able to carry with her the rest of her life. I'm not 100% sure, but I do think she worked through her 3rd degree Brown Belt (the Brown Belts start at 3rd and go down to 1st, which then turns around in the Black Belts which start at 1st and go up from there) in the minimum time required, so I'm pretty proud of here managing that!
