Yesterday was every bit the buzzsaw that I had anticipated it being, given that The Bosses were heading off at crack of dawn today for the Virtual Worlds Conference in San Jose, and we needed to get all their stuff together for them before the end of the day yesterday. I still had stuff that I needed to write come 2pm, and the color laser was being balky on the design guy's project of the info pamphlets. Everything did get written, approved, printed, stuffed into kits and ready to go by 6pm though, which is good, and I was able to catch the 6:25 bus and get on the last of the express trains to the loop.
However, by the time I got home, I was aching like I'd been moving furniture all day. I took some ibuprofen and sacked out, but as the evening progressed, I got a horrible headache, my body was aching, and I was feeling dizzy and queasy. I didn't end up hurling, but felt like that was immanent several times. Needless to say, I was pretty much up all night with this, and come morning, there was no way I was going to make it back up to Evanston. I left a message up there at 9am, and at 2pm, so I hope I've "covered my ass" on not being there, but I would have been pretty damn useless had I gotten on the train.
By about 3:30pm I was feeling a bit better and was able to eat something. I'm hoping this is just a 24-hour thing and I'll be good-to-go in the morning. One of the partners had been sick last Wednesday (he spent most of the day asleep in a recliner in the middle of the office), and I'm wondering if what he had is still floating around. Come to think of it, the "wires" guy was sick on Friday, so maybe this is something that's working its way around the office. Bleh. Not fun. At least it waited until AFTER all that stuff for the conference got done!
