Hollie wanted to know about the following:1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!
Some time ago
Several years back I was quite active with the local Libertarian Party, and for a while was the Fundraising Chair. One of the things I pulled together were several Cafe Press shops, including one with a cool graphic of some Stature of Liberty line art superimposed on the Declaration of Independence. That's the background graphic here, with a Monty Python-esque "Vote Libertarian" flying across it.
A little over a year ago, I followed the LibraryThing folks over to Second Life, and so Eschatos Graves was born. Originally, Eschatos didn't have anyplace in SL to live so "squatted" in some big comfy chairs in one of the buildings over on the old Info Island. He also used to wear a space t-shirt and leather jacket, but when he became the Minister of Propaganda for Simuality, I ended up buying him a suit.
At some point I'd stumbled over this cool thing that would let you make "moving LED" graphics for icons. I played with a few, but the only one I felt like using is this one, which has a snippet of lyrics from The Sisters Of Mercy's song Lucretia, My Reflection ... which is certainly snappier than the other one I still have which goes "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." -- AL I:40!
For some reason, Hollie only picked 4 of my icons ... so I'm throwing in an extra :
Now, drivers license pictures are notorious for being hideous capturings of their subjects, but the last time I had mine shot (which got sticker-renewed for an extra four years), it was one of the best pics ever taken of me. Obviously, as it's sort of small, it unfortunately hasn't lent itself to much other use ... however at some point I was inspired to play with photo manipulation software and made a series of riffs on the one shot. I actually had a matted & framed version of these in a "filmstrip" done which I gave to my Mom, but it occurred to me that doing an animated .gif version of these in rapid sequence would be, if you pardon the pun, "Trippy", so I tend to use this for those sorts of posts!
OK, so that's me. Who wants to play?
