Stop the presses!

Not only is it a picture of me, outdoors, during sun-lit hours ... but I'm on a beach wearing a t-shirt!!!

I was trying to recall the last time I wore a t-shirt in public ... and the last time may have dated back to the 1970's (I just don't "do" t-shirts, although I've been known to accumulate them as souvenirs) ... I'd thrown a load of laundry in the wash this afternoon, and had tossed on a t-shirt for hanging around the house, and then got dragged off to Oak St. Beach with the family ... we were well out of the house before I realized the personal fashion faux pas!

Not only did I look ... well, t-shirty ... the lack of sleeves and collar left vast quantities of my nearly-vampiric skin undefended from the onslaught of direct sunlight! I know, by now you must be sharing with me a "Colonel Kurtz" moment of muttering "the horror, the horror ..."

Speaking of horrors ... it's 90° and humid in my office ... due to the yo-yoing between the 50's and the 70's, they haven't turned on the a/c yet, and the temp has been creeping up in here all weekend. If this keeps going, I may end up restaging a high-rise version of Apocalypse Now ... here's a still-applicable quote: "We train young men to drop fire on people. But their commanders won't allow them to write "fuck" on their airplanes because it's obscene!"

I had to kill a "big ugly spider" for Daughter #2 who, despite being the "outdoorsy" one, was in a total freak-out screaming melt-down about this critter having managed to slip around the screen (my guess at its port of entry) while her window was open today. To dig further into the IMDB quote mine: "What do you call assassins who accuse assassins?" I don't know the answer to that ... but it might have something to do with sweat, and Macbethian “heat-oppress'd brains”.

I'm back to work in the morning, but we're moving the office this week, so it's "business as usual" tomorrow, followed by "packing up the office" on Wednesday, followed by "truck moving stuff" on Thursday (with, I assume, our getting things figured out at the new place), followed by "resuming functioning as best as possible" on Friday. I still don't know what our phone situation is going to be ... at least all my voice mail ends up in my e-mail, so I won't miss much.
