Woulda, coulda, shoulda ...

Oh, well ... the odds were as good that we'd have a Montreal-like debt to pay off as they were for the city "benefiting long term" from the Olympics. I don't get how Chicago was the first one eliminated, though ... obviously, I'd love to blame that on B.O., but it could just as well be the goat! Most Chicagoans were leery about the deal, anyway ... too many "grabby hands" from too many sides involved, and we're already burdened with a 10% sales tax!

There is likely to be a lot of potential for Schadenfreude, as I seriously doubt that Rio will be able to "solve the crime problem" in six years ... so whatever chaos comes along with the Olympics (although I'm guessing that Al-Qaeda is far less interested in messing with Brazil than it would have been with the US), ain't gonna be our problem.
